Abundance

Many times to hear that word we think of money, money, money!

Food, food, food!

Gifts, gifts, gifts!

When we do that we are wrong, wrong, wrong!

True that those with money appear to have an abundance of, well everything, but a closer examination will tell us it just isn’t so.

Abundance by definition is “…a very large quantity of something.”

This suggests more than enough and maybe even an overflow of stuff.

God wants us to see abundance differently. It’s not money, food, gifts or stuff, it is MORE than that.

God’s abundance speaks of appreciation, sharing, believing.

Abundance hints at attitude instead of multitude.

James 1:17

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.

These words tell me that my abundance comes from God and as I give to others, my life becomes abundant. And for that wisdom I am grateful.
