In the Max Lucado book I have referenced, I saw this passage and prayer which together create such a perfect message after Easter. The prayer I share is in an abbreviated form.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
“Father God, you redeemed me from my sin. You have taken it far away from me. You are perfect love. Help me search my worth. Help me comprehend your sacrifice.
Be strength to those who don’t believe, for they bear an unnecessary burden alone.
Teach me appreciation for all you do; especially for the healing rescue you constantly give.”
AMEN
There is such beauty in forgiveness, redemption and God’s amazing love!
