Why Write?

26 Jan

There is a reason for everything. There is a season for everything. The Book of Ecclesiastes tells us so.

 “For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:

 a time to be born, and a time to die;
a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted;
 a time to kill, and a time to heal;
a time to break down, and a time to build up;
 a time to weep, and a time to laugh;
a time to mourn, and a time to dance.”

AND SO THE VERSES GO….

Lately, some of you have asked me WHY I write this blog. It started as personal journaling so that I could have concrete devotions several times a week. It seemed more purposeful instead of, “Oh, maybe I should read something devotional.” I am not that girl whose daily routine is sacrosanct. I like every day to be a little different. As a result, on some days certain things don’t make it to the top of the TO DO list and I am sad to say that a devotion time was one of those things that sometimes got delayed or set aside. Then I began thinking that maybe others feel the way I do and if someone prodded them to convene a few times a week, their own devotion time might be enriched.

I do not have a ton of readers, but statistics kept by the platform organizers since the spring of 2021, when I began this adventure, tell me that I have reached over a dozen different countries! And I have received emails from readers whom I do not know with positive comments on the posts. My real readers are those of you who need a little lift during your busy distracting week, and I am thankful anytime you show up!

Pass the link along to anyone who needs a spiritual lift every few days and by all means, if you want a reminder of every post, you certainly can click the FOLLOW button on the lower right edge of the page. That button is designed to keep us connected. Be well, my friends, and thanks for your support, one and all!

To God be the glory for filling me with ideas day to day. And I am thankful that my devotional time is not only special and purposeful to me, but maybe it is for you as well.
