Do you remember making lists of desired presents back in the day? Do you remember when your children made lists of their wants and desires? Do you still have a list?
Years ago I first heard a song called GROWN UP CHRISTMAS LIST. The song was sung by Amy Grant and was composed by David Foster. Just a portion of the lyrics is captured below.
Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee
I wrote to you with childhood fantasies
Well I’m all grown up now
And still need help somehow
I’m not a child but my heart still can dream
So here’s my lifelong wish
My grown-up Christmas List
Not for myself, but for a world in need
No more lives torn apart
That wars would never start
And time would heal all hearts
And everyone would have a friend
And right would always win
And love would never end, oh
This is my grown-up Christmas List.
The song lyrics go on to describe an adult with wishes and desires for a better world, a safer planet and a more caring humanity. The song emerged in the 1990s and the wishes are still truly relevant. I hope the linked video below works for you, literally and figuratively.
