A prayer for my Country–I wish we were a more caring people. I wish division were not so deep. I wish for peace to reign and for God’s power to be the ultimate power in our existence.
I pray for our leaders, that their wisdom would not be the ultimate wisdom and that recognizing human frailty they would seek wisdom from above.
I pray for the safety of the nation, that little children might only fear a thunderstorm and not violence and human threat or danger,
I pray that I will have a mind to truly listen to those who are different. Difference in beliefs, looks, philosophies and ideals make for opportunities to learn from rather than cancel or shut out.
I pray to see the distinct value of all humans from the tiniest to the mightiest.
I pray for not only the United States of America, but also for our world, in its humanity and broken spirit.
I pray for God’s wisdom to be the wisdom above all. Only in that holy place will fear, danger, hatred and unrest cease.
