Do you have a heart condition? When we hear such a question we of course think about a medical condition or a health ailment. Well, it could be a health ailment, but not as you may think. It could be a spiritual health ailment, which would suggest your heart needs to be in a different place.
Years ago I had a pastor who would have put it this way, “How is it with your soul?”
Is your spirit following a positive vibe of gratefulness, charity, helpfulness, giving? Or might you be trapped in a place that asks, “Where’s mine and how about me?”
Scripture tells of images of a healthy heart and soul:
“By love serve one another.” Galatians 5:15
“Give and it shall be given unto you.” Luke 6:38
Have you heard the notion of having an attitude of gratitude? I looked for the source of this as a quote attributed to someone, but I failed. Do you know who originally stated this?
What I did find was a poster with a definition from ETSY, the online marketplace. The poster stated:
Gratitude: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness to someone.
I suspect when we feel gratitude and act upon it then we gain a healthier heart condition! It may not be a medical diagnosis , but it speaks of spiritual health, which can be just as powerful as physical health.
